Our retreat is gender specific to eliminate distractions

The Wenham House is for adult men, over the age of 18, who are struggling with alcoholism and addiction, and who are willing to do the work necessary to find recovery.

Our staff are individuals in recovery from addiction and alcoholism, and we know this recovery is possible for everyone.

To become a guest, we first require an interview—we prefer in-person interviews, and can schedule a site visit, time permitting.

To ensure the safety of all guests, The Wenham House performs random drug and alcohol screenings of all guests throughout their stay. The Wenham House has a zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use by our guests. Anyone who uses drugs or alcohol while a guest of The Wenham House will be immediately asked to leave.

Are you ready for the hard work of transforming your life?

Our work begins once a man is deemed medically stable by their PHP or detox facility.

We treat the problems an individual encounters after the alcohol and drugs are removed—restlessness, irritability, and discontentment. We admit men who are ready to immediately begin work on their recovery by learning, understanding and applying the Twelve Steps.

That said, guests must be clean and sober at the time of check in. It is imperative that guests are medically stable when they arrive so that they can immediately begin the work laid out by the Twelve Step process. We can provide referrals to appropriate detox facilities on request.
